Nuffic : Promoting an International Education within The Netherlands

The Netherlands is now the largest provider of English-taught education programs in Europe, with more than 2.100 international study options available. Nuffic Neso provides support to students seeking those educational opportunities, including its Studyfinder feature, which lists the broad range of searchable international study programs.

Research shows that students choose to study in the Netherlands for the quality of education, the cosmopolitan Dutch lifestyle, and the availability of courses in English. Both bachelor’s and master’s degrees are offered, with the master’s programs being especially in demand.

Dutch universities and professors understand the value of having an international approach to studies and cultivate a supportive atmosphere for international students in the classroom. Nuffic manages more than 75 scholarships available to international students and Nuffic Neso Brazil manages a scholarship program exclusively for Brazilians named: Orange Tulip Scholarship Brazil. The universities or private funds determine scholarship recipients, some with full tuition covered outside of living expenses.

The Netherlands is in the top ten in terms of receiving students from Brazil, including those from Science without Borders; more than 1,000 students came from Brazil in 2014 alone. Still, Nuffic Neso is seeking to increase its level of partnership in the country.
