One of only two Augustinian institutions of higher education in the United States, Merrimack’s Girard School of Business, is committed to providing students with opportunities to develop intellectually, spiritually, socially, and ethically. Augustinian values encourage students to be well-rounded and stand out as committed global citizens.
With its location just 40 kilometers north of Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts, both economic and cultural hubs of New England, Girard graduates have many of the region’s best career opportunities. Merrimack has also achieved distinction through impressive rankings from U.S. News & World Report and was recently named a top US college for ensuring its graduates’ economic success by Money Magazine.
Girard’s graduate programs are designed to be highly interactive and engaging in order to develop professionals who think critically and communicate effectively in a competitive marketplace.
Ranked in the top 25 “Best Master’s in Management” for three consecutive years by TFE Times (The Financial Engineer), Girard’s MS in Management emphasizes creative problem-solving skills, integrity, responsibility, and a global perspective.
The MS in Accounting program is focused on developing proficient accountants who have a solid foundation in accounting’s best practices. With its combination of accounting and managerial curriculum, it provides a pathway for students who wish to obtain the additional semester hours required for certified public accountant (CPA) certification.
Both the MS in Management and the MS in Accounting programs can be completed in one year and the MSM is open to students with both business and non-business undergraduate degrees—which is rare for business schools. Students of all disciplines will gain an excellent business education and acquire valuable skills and knowledge in the MS in Management program that will broaden their range of career options. Merrimack also offers the online MS in Business Analytics.
Investment in faculty and expanded corporate partnerships are further creating a modern academic enterprise at Girard. Professor Rodrigo Bandeira De Mello, a former professor at FGV Business School of São Paulo, and Professor Jose Godinez from Guatemala, bring international viewpoints and experiences to the school.
Student experience is further enhanced with the Comprehensive Business Advising Center and Bloomberg terminals in the Mucci Markets Lab. Students also have the opportunity to participate in the Marketing Graduate Case Competition and the Global Asset Management Education (G.A.M.E). Forum in New York City.
Girard’s founding promise to prioritize global awareness and teach business concepts through an international scope uniquely readies graduates to compete for jobs anywhere in the world. The experienced faculty adds international industry and academic experience, making Girard a premier destination for students seeking a broad international approach.
The school’s goal to partner with Latin American institutions that share similar values will help students feel supported, engaged, and welcome in their home away from home.
