Opus College of Business: Tailored to You

When assessing the value of an MBA, a compelling metric is the degree to which a program can be tailored to a student’s particular educational objectives.
Whether it be a deep dive in a particular focus area or an expedited degree, the Opus College of Business at St. Thomas university offers unparalleled versatility in its newly relaunched Full-time Flex MBA program.

Flexible Programming

The compact yet comprehensive full-time program allows students to earn an accredited MBA in just 16 months. In designing the Full-time Flex MBA, the university partnered with local Fortune 500 employers based in the Twin Cities such as Medtronic, Boston Scientific, and General Mills to garner insight into the specific skills that make a candidate uniquely employable.
Consequently, the Full-time Flex MBA offers opportunities for specialization and deep dive study for those skill areas that are most in demand as well as development of industry-preferred skills through Opus’ communications, leadership, and ethics labs.

For students wishing to focus more deeply on a functional area within business, they can extend the program and earn a graduate certificate in business analytics, digital experience, global business, strategic growth, real estate, corporate communication and marketing communication.

Diversity of Cohort, Diversity of Perspective

The full-time MBA program is a small, dedicated group of which about 20% are international students from Latin America, Asia, Africa, and Europe. The diversity of cohort and study abroad opportunities allow students to gain a broad perspective, challenge their thinking, and “improve cultural agility.” Explained Director of Admissions Tiffany Cork, “Students choose our school because of the community that we offer. In a smaller program there is a deep connection with your fellow students and faculty and a lot of support for students coming into the United States.”

The university has a dedicated coach assigned to help international students navigate the visa process as well as relationships with employers who understand the process and are willing and able to offer positions to international students.

With a focus on students and their success, students begin to develop the knowledge, practical experience, and insight to excel in their career from their first MBA class. Whether they choose to dive more deeply into a specialization or develop general business skills, students can truly personalize their MBA experience at Opus.
