New York Prep School Promotes Leadership, Community Service

Founded in 1877, The Masters School is a prominent coeducational New York prep school, serving over 650 students in grades five through twelve (boarding 9-12). With a thriving environment that encourages athletics, arts, and community service, as well as a unique teaching philosophy that promotes effective communication and leadership, it comes as no surprise that Masters has a reputation for sending its graduates to the country’s top colleges and universities.

Athletics and More

Masters students strive for success across academics, arts, and athletics. In addition to strong arts and music programs, students enjoy competitive sports including an internationally recognized fencing, field hockey, soccer, tennis, and basketball teams. A new 75,000 square-foot athletic and arts center will open later this year.

Beyond Campus

Located just outside Manhattan, Masters creates boundless opportunities for students to engage in cultural excursions, internships (such as at nearby Columbia University and The Julliard School), and community service in one of the most diverse cities in the world. The school encourages all students to become academically excellent leaders and make a positive difference in the world – starting with their own community.
