Creighton University’s Heider College of Business Promotes Employability and Social Responsibility
Prospective students with Wall Street ambitions need look no further than Creighton University’s Heider College of Business in Omaha, Nebraska. The college’s renowned Master of Investment Management and Financial Analysis (MIMFA) program is based on the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute credential and curriculum is targeted towards the CFA exam.
“If you want to work on Wall Street, investment banking, or any kind of financial analysis, being a CFA charter holder is really that gold standard,” explained Heider College of Business Dean Dr. Anthony Hendrickson.
The college is one of four schools in the nation covering all three levels of the CFA exam and there are more charter holders on the faculty than any school in the world. As a result, Heider students do exceptionally well on the CFA exam, with a pass rate of over 87%, as compared to the international pass rate of 33%.
The college’s other renowned master’s programs include the Master of Science in Business Intelligence and Analytics (MSBIA), the Master of Accounting (MAC), and the new Master of Finance (MSF) program, designed for students seeking a broader foundation in finance.
Heider College of Business offers flexible dual degree programs that can be combined with an MBA so students get the highest return on investment in their education. The MBA program is 33 credit hours and can be joined with another program for a dual degree of 48 credit hours. Many students pursue a dual MBA/Master in Investment Management, MBA/Master in Security Analysis, or an MBA/Master of Science in Negotiation and Dispute Resolution (MSNDR), offered in conjunction with the Creighton School of Law.
Students also have the option to earn their MBA online or take hybrid courses that are taught online as well as in person. This is an excellent choice for students who work full-time during their studies, as do 85% of Creighton students.
Creighton is a Jesuit university and with this comes a strong sense of social responsibility, as exemplified by the Heider slogan, “Integrity Before Profits®.” Heider students are taught to value integrity and ethical business practices and have the unique opportunity to earn the Dean’s Honor Roll for Social Responsibility designation on their transcript by completing a specific number of community service hours. As a result, students graduate with strong principles and all the tools needed for success.
