The Tepper School at Carnegie Mellon University, Unrelenting Focus on Innovation
Located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and recognized for academic excellence, groundbreaking research and interdisciplinary collaboration, Carnegie Mellon consistently ranks among the world’s top universities. Since 1949, the Tepper School of Business offers one of the world’s highest-rated graduate business degrees, owing its success to an unrelenting focus on innovation throughout all aspects of its program.
Learning to Lead and Analyze
Through course work, experiential learning, capstone and project courses, as well as substantial team-focused assignments, students receive depth and breadth both in leadership and analytics resulting in a real career advantage for students. Graduates are prepared for any level of complexity – with advanced knowledge of analytical frameworks and predictive modeling, they excel in uncertain, complicated global markets.
The program revolves around mini-semesters—a model that provides students with exposure to a wide range of courses every eight weeks. Upon graduation, students have completed thirty-two courses, half of which are electives in areas students wish to customize according to their personal and professional goals. With twelve concentrations, Tepper students can focus on areas such as strategy, finance, marketing, organizational behavior, and operations. In addition, with four track options, students have the option of depth coursework in areas such as business analytics, management of innovation and product development, entrepreneurship, and technology management. Students can focus on multiple topics allowing them to fully customize their degree.
Part-Time or Full-Time MBA Programs
The Part-Time MBA and Part-Time Online Hybrid MBA program allow professionals to earn an MBA while continuing their employment. The Part-Time MBA meets on campus while the Part-Time Online Hybrid program meets virtually with just five trips per year for Access Weekends to either Pittsburgh, New York, or Silicon Valley campuses. All part-time students have full access to the Tepper Career Opportunities Center and the Tepper alumni network. The Full-Time program allows students to fully immerse themselves in the curriculum in a big-league city that values its small-town feel. Low crime rates, tree-lined streets, three major sports teams, sparkling rivers underlining green hillsides, and affordable housing in popular neighborhoods are a few of the reasons why Pittsburgh is one of the top fifteen corporate headquarters locations in the US.
Of particular note is that all three MBA formats are distinct in their assurance of the same admission standards, coursework, professors, and graduation requirements. This high standard is rare among business schools and reflects Tepper’s commitment to providing a world-class experience.
