On-campus Intensive English Programs – Have Access to it All!

University student life can be a blast, and part of the fun is living and learning right on campus! An American university is like a small village. With restaurants, libraries, sports facilities, academic buildings, dormitories, and more - some students rarely even leave their campus. While you may not want to spend every waking moment of your education on campus, experiencing it for a few months while pursuing an ESL program can be a great opportunity.

The following ESL programs are located right on campus so you won’t miss out on the action:

The University of North Carolina at Charlotte’s English Language Training Institute (ELTI) is the oldest and largest language program in North Carolina. ELTI hosts more than 250 students each semester at the university, where over 27,000 students from the US and over 100 countries study.

Pennsylvania State University’s Intensive English Communication Program is part of a renowned research university, known for its engineering, business, science, agriculture, and high-tech innovations. The Intensive English Communication Program’s faculty has master’s degrees and at least three years of instructional experience.

California State University, Northridge's Intensive English Program (IEP) has a beautiful palm-tree-dotted campus, is an official TOEFL test center, and will open an entirely new building for the program in fall 2016.

Pennsylvania’s Harcum College is celebrating its centennial anniversary. Located in the safe Main Line neighborhood on the outskirts of Philadelphia, its English Language Academy students have the opportunity to meet and bond with students from nearby colleges through joint reception events.

At the University of Albany in New York IELP students study in the heart of the campus and have access to all facilities including libraries, computer labs, restaurants, athletic facilities, and dormitories. Excursions, cultural activities, and guest speakers also provide insight into the American university experience.

A.C.E. Language Institute is a private language school group with four on-campus locations: Seattle Pacific University in Seattle, Washington; Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana; Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania; and the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, Rhode Island.

University of Montana in Missoula, Montana is known for fully-integrating ESL students into campus and student life.

Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska has an impressive 6:1 student-faculty ratio, and all ESL students may participate in campus-wide events, clubs, and activities.

MU Center for English Language Learning located in Columbia, Missouri, serves as the University of Missouri’s ESL program and offers extensive English practice opportunities such as outreach trips and American language partners.

Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon, offers a small, intimate campus and opportunities for ESL students can take academic classes through the university’s Bridge program.

The Language Company (TLC) – South Bend is located on the campus of Indiana University South Bend, in the heart of a major university town.

Mercer University, Atlanta - English Language Institute offers specialized services and programs to international students on campus, such as the International House, which allows international students to integrate with American students in a “living-learning” environment.

At Marylhurst University Pacific International Academy, in Marylhurst, Oregon, students improve their English while having the opportunity to study cultural topics, technology, and live with families through its homestay program.

Boston University’s Center for English Language and Orientation Programs (CELOP) has been an integral part of the university for 40 years and is where many international students begin their US experience. CELOP’s Pre-law and Pre-MBA programs give students practical experience, preparing them to thrive in their future degree programs.

Since 1975, Western Michigan University’s Center for English Language and Culture for International Students (CELCIS) has been providing English instruction to non-native speakers, preparing them to study at American colleges or universities or helping them to advance in their careers in the US.

At the University of St. Francis’ English Language for Academic Purposes (ELAP) Program, international students have the opportunity to study academic English while being immersed in American culture. Located just 35 miles from Chicago, ELAP students participate in cultural field trips, as well as independently explore the vibrant city and its links to the rest of the United States.

Rowan University’s English Language Program, ideally located just minutes from Philadelphia, provides a family-like setting and exciting new programs, facilities, and learning opportunities within a rapidly expanding campus. A flourishing research institution, Rowan is renown for its medical schools and engineering programs.
