Welcome to Life in America’s Heartland

Oklahoma State University (OSU) offers a diverse portfolio of educational opportunities in the heartland of America. Over 2,000 international students from 100 countries choose OSU, joining a student body of 23,000 students at this thriving research institution. Ranked by several publications as one of the country’s best values in higher education, OSU goes above and beyond to create a dynamic, thriving educational community.

English Language Institute

The English Language Institute (ELI) at OSU prides itself on faculty excellence, student support, and proven teaching methods. However, as English Language Institute Director, Fred Griffiths, explained, “Student life outside the classroom is where our program truly shines.”

“Our students go on trips, join clubs, volunteer in the community, participate in talent shows, and truly join the OSU and Stillwater community.”

Because of its commitment to student success, in 2016 the ELI undertook a complete tech overhaul, including new computers; state-of- the-art, interactive, smart technology in the classrooms; and new language-learning software.

From high-tech infrastructure to caring faculty and dynamic student life opportunities, OSU offers the best to its international students.

On-campus Housing

ELI students can choose to live on- or off-campus. OSU offers an astonishing 32 on-campus housing options, including a women-only accommodation and an option for international students to live with US peers. The residential life program sponsors barbecues and games to further enhance the campus experience.

Life in Stillwater, Oklahoma

ELI students are integrated into life at OSU; they enjoy a phenomenal athletic scene, excellent facilities, and a broad range of opportunities. Stillwater is widely known as a safe, clean, and friendly small town.“Our students are so successful at OSU because they have a home here and are treated like family,” concluded Mr. Griffiths.
