Language Programs in the US

Since 1954, more than 20,000 students from over 120 countries have studied English at Saint Michael’s College. Students live in premium residence halls and have full access to all university facilities. English language programs are available for all levels (with average class sizes fewer than 15 students). Summer programs are available as well.

Near the Cultural Center of Burlington, Vermont

Burlington, Vermont—ranked #13 in “Best College Towns” by Travel+Leisure in 2016—is home to great shopping, a lively music scene, a professional theatre, and recreation on Lake Champlain. Large cities nearby include Montreal, Canada; Boston, Massachusetts; and New York City.



Intensive English Program (IEP)

Five levels are offered in the IEP, from beginner to advanced. Topics include reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, listening, speaking, and pronunciation. No test scores? No problem. The IEP does not require TOEFL or IELTS scores. Custom-length programs are available for groups .

Academic English (AEP)

Students transition from ESL to academic content over three levels. Receiving the ESL support needed to succeed, students take two or more courses including academic writing, grammar, oral skills, and reading. University credit is offered in all levels.
